the heavenly host: These armies from heaven show God's ultimate power and authority (2 Kings 6:17; Psalm 148:2). LORD of Hosts is a common Old Testament name for God (for example, 1 Samuel 1:11; 17:45; 2 Samuel 7:8; Isaiah 5:16; Romans 9:29; James 5:4).
