Notes

Scattering the bones of the dead showed the greatest disrespect to a defeated nation. Jerusalem's favorite pagan gods—the sun, moon, and stars—could not stop it.

This message announced death for the people of Judah. It came true with the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC.
