English
This is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Glean the remnant of Israel as thoroughly as a vine. Pass your hand once more like a grape gatherer over the branches.”
Notes
There was little time left for people to return to the one true God. The invasion survivors would be like leftover grapes on vines. God, the harvester, would find the survivors to ensure everyone in Israel faced this punishment.
The invasion from the north, likely by the Babylonians in 605 BC, was approaching the kingdom of Judah. As the Lord's messenger, Jeremiah had the duty to warn the people so they could find shelter.
