English
Even if Babylon ascends to the heavens and fortifies her lofty stronghold, the destroyers I send will come against her,” declares the LORD.

Notes

Babylon's walls could not save it. The city would definitely be looted because the Lord had declared their punishment.

The Lord cared about the spiritual and physical health of the Jewish exiles in Babylon. Their political situation was dangerous. The Lord promised a future where the exiles would be saved from shame and return joyfully to their own land.
