But I have not run away from being Your shepherd; I have not desired the day of despair. You know that the utterance of my lips was spoken in Your presence.
Traditional
As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow thee: neither have I desired the woeful day; thou knowest: that which came out of my lips was right before thee.
Literal
And I have not hurried away from being a shepherd after You, and I have not desired the day of despair; You know that which came out of my lips, for it was before Your face.
Latin
…et ego non sum turbatus, te pastorem sequens: et diem hominis non desideravi, tu scis: quod egressum est de labiis meis, rectum in conspectu tuo fuit.

Notes

Jeremiah asked the Lord to prove his innocence because he was faithful.

Jeremiah asked the Lord to rescue him from his enemies because he had been faithful. He also asked for healing, salvation, and justice.

Jeremiah said he learned this lesson and truly trusted in the Lord.
