For day after day they seek Me and delight to know My ways, like a nation that does what is right and does not forsake the justice of their God. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they delight in the nearness of God.”

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

And day by day they seek Me, and they delight to know My ways, like a nation that does righteousness, and the justice of their God they do not forsake! They ask me for judgments of righteousness; in the nearness of God they delight:

they seek me: They may have been truly committed to a religious form, but they failed to truly meet God in their religious activities.

This is a charge against religious Israelites who were pleased with themselves because of their religious activities.
