The Nile River was essential for Egypt's survival. Any change in its flooding pattern impacted the entire country. In ancient Egypt, people saw the Nile as a god. However, the true God could easily dry it up.
Egypt relied heavily on the Nile for food, fish, and industry. When the Lord struck the Nile, Egypt would face severe difficulties, and its gods would not be able to help.
