Notes

The Lord inspired the people (stirred the spirit) to fulfill his plans (see Ezra 1:1; Isaiah 13:17; 41:25; Jeremiah 51:1, 11). Genuine worship of God leads his people to serve selflessly.

The first message urges the people of Jerusalem to restore proper worship of God.
