Notes

  • ark: This was a long rectangular boat built for survival, not navigation. The Hebrew word tebah is the same for the basket that carried baby Moses on the Nile River (Exodus 2:3, 5).

  • gopher wood: It is not clear what kind of wood this was. It may have come from a conifer (a tree like cypress).
