Notes

awesome deeds … in the sight of all Israel: The people of Israel saw the mighty acts that God performed. The Egyptians also saw his power. These events caused fear and awe.

The people needed to remember God’s power. This would help them obey him with reverent fear (see 4:10; 5:29; 6:2; Proverbs 1:7).

Moses did not enter the promised land (see study note on 32:51). However, God allowed him to share a moment of glory in the land when the divine glory of Jesus was revealed to others (Luke 9:28–36).
