Notes
When this proud king is defeated, God's kingdom will rule forever over all kingdoms on earth (compare Psalm 2; Isaiah 9:6–7). God's holy people of the will serve as leaders in God's kingdom (compare Luke 22:29–30; 1 Corinthians 6:2–3; Revelation 3:21; 20:4).
Daniel requested and received more information about the fourth beast, the ten horns, and the little horn.
This chapter includes a frightening vision (Daniel 7:2–14) and its explanation (7:17–27). The order of kingdoms reminds us of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream about forty-five years earlier (Daniel 2:1–45).
