10,000 Edomites: Amaziah's victory is briefly mentioned here but detailed in 2 Chronicles 25:5–15. God granted Amaziah this win but later reprimanded him. He was criticized for hiring Israelite soldiers and for bringing home and worshiping Edomite gods.
The Valley of Salt is about three miles south of the Dead Sea.
Sela is traditionally seen as a site among the rocks and cliffs near Petra in modern Jordan. Capturing this well-defended location showed that Amaziah's victory was given by God.
