Notes

A month later than usual, the law allowed for a delayed Passover if someone was ceremonially unclean or on a long journey (Numbers 9:9–11). Hezekiah's Passover followed the spirit, if not the exact rules, of these provisions. The delayed Passover offered a chance for national unity and spiritual renewal.

This story of Hezekiah's Passover celebration shows the Chronicler's focus on Israel's unity, the people's spiritual readiness, and the success of following Solomon's restoration plan at the temple dedication (2 Chronicles 7:14).
