Notes
The book of Kings dates the start of the temple construction by linking it to the exodus from Egypt (1 Kings 6:1). Chronicles often leaves out mentions of the exodus. This may highlight the ongoing and lasting connection between the people, the land, and God.
In Chronicles, the temple is the main focus of Solomon's reign. However, it provides less detail about its architecture and furnishings than the book of Kings does (for example, 1 Kings 6:2–10).
