When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, and it has mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
Traditional
And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the Lord: therefore the Lord hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake unto him.
Literal
And the prophet who had brought him back from the way heard it, and he said, “It is the man of God, who was disobedient to the word of YHWH. And YHWH has delivered him to the lion, and it has torn him and killed him according to the word of YHWH that He spoke to him.”
Latin
Quod cum audisset propheta ille qui reduxerat eum de via, ait: Vir Dei est, qui inobediens fuit ori Domini, et tradidit eum Dominus leoni, et confregit eum, et occidit juxta verbum Domini quod locutus est ei.

When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, “It is the man of God who disobeyed the command of the LORD. Therefore the LORD has delivered him to the lion, and it has mauled him and killed him, according to the word that the LORD had spoken to him.”
Notes
The donkey did not run away, and the lion did not eat the man's body. This was a supernatural event. The old prophet immediately understood that God had fulfilled his word by judging disobedience (1 Kings 13:21–22).
