Notes
The Chronicler, like the author of Genesis, lists Abraham's descendants separately from Isaac. He mentions Ishmael's sons (1 Chronicles 1:29–31; compare Genesis 25:12–15) and Keturah's sons (1 Chronicles 1:32–33; compare Genesis 25:1–3) before focusing on the chosen family line.
The Chronicler starts by showing Israel's place among the nations. He traces their ancestry from Adam to Jacob, using information from Genesis.
