The new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31–34) would deeply influence the people's spiritual lives, both individually and as a community.
They will be My people, and I will be their God: A strong relationship between God and his people would finally happen, as intended by the covenant from the beginning (Jeremiah 7:23; Leviticus 26:12; Ezekiel 11:20; 37:23; Zechariah 8:8).
