discipline: This word can also mean "admonished" (Psalm 2:10), "discipline" (6:1; 94:12), or "instructs" (16:7). The Lord disciplines his people to improve their character (Proverbs 3:11–12; Hebrews 12:6–11). He punishes his enemies by giving them what they deserve (Psalm 1:6; Romans 6:23).
