Kiriath-jearim: This town, located northwest of Jerusalem, housed the Ark for twenty years (1 Samuel 7:1–2) after its return from Philistine captivity. It was on the border of Judah and Benjamin and received a memorial name linked to Dan’s wanderings (compare with the different site in Judges 13:25).
