The charges did not stand up when the officials examined them. So they released Jason and the other believers after they paid a bond (money given as a promise to return if required).

Luke shows that Christianity was not a political threat to the Roman Empire. For this reason, he argues that it should be treated as a permitted religion and not attacked for political reasons.
