Read Luke 9:27

This difficult verse might refer to:

  1. the second coming of Christ;

  2. the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70;

  3. the resurrection of Jesus; or

  4. the transfiguration (when the appearance of Jesus changed and his glory was shown), which immediately follows in 9:28–36.

The last possibility is the most likely.
