1. to keep off; with dative, to assist.
2. to suffice: with dative of person(s), Jo 67, 2 Corinthians 12:9; impers., Matthew 25:9, John 14:8 (MM, see word). Pass., to be satisfied: with dative of thing(s), Luke 3:14, 1 Timothy 6:8, Hebrews 13:5; before ἐπί, 3 John 10.
