a lip (as in Heb., of the lip as the organ of speech): Matthew 15:8, Mark 7:6, Romans 3:13, 1 Corinthians 14:21, Hebrews 13:15, 1 Peter 3:10" (LXX) . Metaphorical, of things, an edge, brink, etc. (Hom., Hdt., al.): of the sea­shore, Hebrews 11:12.
