Definition

ὑπο-στολή, -ῆς, ἡ

(ὑποστέλλω),

1. a letting down, lowering (Plut.).

2. a shrinking back (Hesych.): οὐκ ἐσμὲν ὑποστολῆς (on the genitive, see Bl., § 35, 2), Hebrews 10:39.
