(ὑάκινθος), [in LXX for תַּחַשׁ, תְּכֵלֶת ;]

of hyacinth, hyacinthine (see: ὑάκινθος), "doubtless meant to describe the blue smoke of a sulphurous flame" (Swete): Revelation 9:17 (Hom., Eur., al.).
