1. a founding, settling, foundation (cl.).

2. In LXX and NT,

(a) the act of creating, creation: Mark 10:6 (Swete, in l), Mark 13:19, Romans 1:20, 2 Peter 3:4;

(b) that which has been created, creation: Romans 1:25; 8:39, Hebrews 4:13; καινὴ κ., 2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 6:15; πάσῃ ἀνθρωπίνῃ κ.
