Definition

κοινός, -ή, -όν

[in LXX: Proverbs 1:14 (אֶחָד) Proverbs 21:9; 25:24 (חֶבֶר), Wis.7.3, al. ;]

1. common (general; = Lat. communis): Acts 2:44; 4:32; κ. πίστις, Titus 1:4; σωτηρία, Jude 3

2. common (ordinary; = vulgaris); hence in LXX (1Ma.1.47, al.) and NT, unhallowed, unclean (cl., βέβηλος, which see): Mark 7:2, 5, Acts 10:14, 28; 11:8, Romans 14:14, Hebrews 10:29, Revelation 21:27.
