ἁμαρτάνω
(present formed from aor. ἁμαρτεῖν), [in LXX for חָטָא, also for אָשַׁם, רָשַׁע, etc. ;]
1. to miss the mark (Hom., Æsch., al.), hence metaphorically (Hom., al.), to err, do wrong
2.
