to sit down, sit: John 20:12; before ἐν, Matthew 26:55, Luke 2:46, John 11:20, Acts 6:15; before ἐπί, with genitive, Acts 20:9; id. with dative, John 4:6 (cf. παρα-καθέζ-, κάθημαι).
