ἱκανός, -ή, -όν

(ἵκω, ἱκάνω, to reach, attain), [in LXX for דַּי, etc. ;]

1. of persons, suffcient, competent, fit: with inf., Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:7, Luke 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:9, 2 Corinthians 3:6, 2 Timothy 2:2; before πρός, 2 Corinthians 2:16; before ἵνα, Matthew 8:8, Luke 7:6.
