ἀγαλλιάω, -ῶ, Hellenistic form of cl. ἀγάλλω, to glorify, mid. -ομαι, to exult in;

to exult, rejoice greatly: before ἐπί, with dative, Luke 1:47; with dative mod., 1 Peter 1:8, Revelation 19:7. Mid., with same sense: Matthew 5:12, Luke 10:21, Acts 2:26; 16:34, 1 Peter 4:13; before ἵνα, John 8:56; ἐν, John 5:35 (1 aor. pass. perh. as mid.; but see Mozley, Psalter, 5), 1 Peter 1:6 (Cremer, 590).
