ἐκ-πλήσσω

1. prop., to strike out, drive away.
2. to strike with panic or shock, to amaze, astonish: pass., Matthew 13:54; 19:25, Mark 6:2; 7:37; 10:26, Luke 2:48; before ἐπί, with dative of thing(s), Matthew 7:28; 22:33, Mark 1:22; 11:18, Luke 4:32; 9:43, Acts 13:12.
Synonyms: " πτωεῖν G?, to terrify, agitate with fear;
τρεμεῖν, to tremble, predominantly physical;
φοβεῖν, to fear, "the general term," Thayer;
