to mutter, murmur: 1 Corinthians 10:10; before κατά, Matthew 20:11; πρός, Luke 5:30; περί, John 6:41, 61; μετ᾽ ἀλλήλων, John 6:43; with accusative, before περί, John 7:32 (cf. δια-γογγύζω).
