Testing

…you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. For the LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Surely testing will come! And what if even the scepter, which the sword despises, does not continue?’ declares the Lord GOD.

But Jesus knew their evil intent and said, “You hypocrites, why are you testing Me?

Then the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus, testing Him by demanding from Him a sign from heaven.

But Jesus saw through their hypocrisy and said, “Why are you testing Me? Bring Me a denarius to inspect.”

The seeds on rocky ground are those who hear the word and receive it with joy, but they have no root. They believe for a season, but in the time of testing, they fall away.

I am not giving a command, but I am testing the sincerity of your love through the earnestness of others.

…do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness,

…because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

Because you have kept My command to persevere, I will also keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
